FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know before your first event.

Getting Started

All you need is a screen (TV, projector, or monitor) connected to a device with a browser, and a separate device (phone, tablet, or laptop) for the host console. No apps, no hardware, no installation.
A QR code is displayed on your venue screen before the game starts. Guests scan it with their phone, enter their team name and a few details, and they're registered. No app download, no account creation required.
It depends on the number of teams. A typical 8-team event runs 60–90 minutes including registration time. Smaller brackets can finish in 30–45 minutes. The Speed Round adds about 15–20 minutes if enabled.
One person can absolutely run the whole show. The host console is designed to be operated solo — you control everything from one screen while the game display takes care of itself.

Plans & Billing

Yes — no credit card required. The free plan supports up to 4 teams per event and up to 5 events total. It's a fully functional version of Bar Feud, just with some limits.
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately and you're charged the prorated difference. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing cycle so you keep full access until then.
Yes. If you're closed for a stretch, on vacation, or just taking a break from events, you can pause your subscription from your portal. Pausing stops billing without losing your settings or history.
Your account and all game history remains accessible for 30 days after cancellation in case you change your mind. After that it is removed.
Question packs are themed sets of survey questions (Bar Life, Sports, Pop Culture, Holidays, etc.). The base pack is included with Basic and Pro plans. Additional packs are available as one-time purchases — you buy them once and they never expire.

Running the Game

The Speed Round is a bonus timed round available on the Pro plan. After the main tournament, the winning team (or all remaining teams) race to answer as many questions as possible within a time limit. Prize tiers are set by you in advance — the crowd loves it.
The Losers Bracket keeps eliminated teams in the game by giving them a second chance. Teams that lose in the main bracket drop into the losers bracket and keep competing. It keeps more people engaged longer, which means more ordering.
Yes. In your portal under Manage Questions, you can toggle any question on or off for your events. You can deactivate questions that don't fit your crowd and only play the ones you want.
Yes. Each event has a shareable public URL you can post on social media or your website. Guests can register their team ahead of time. On game night, you check them in from the host console.
The free plan supports up to 4 teams. Basic and Pro plans support unlimited teams. You set your own maximum in your event settings — useful if your space has a capacity limit.

Technical

Bar Feud runs in any modern web browser on any device. The game display works best on a larger screen (TV or monitor). The host console works on a phone, tablet, or laptop. Team registration works on any smartphone.
A standard WiFi connection is all you need. Bar Feud is lightweight and designed to work reliably on typical venue WiFi. We recommend having a dedicated device connected to your venue network for the game display.
Yes. All connections are encrypted over HTTPS. Team registration only collects a name, email, and player count — no payment info, no sensitive data. We never sell subscriber or player data.
